How multiple US numbers work with TripoSIM
The rule is simple: one US number per TripoSIM account, one account per person.
- Each person has their own account. It uses their own email address and their own login on their own phone.
- Each person does their own ID check. US rules require an identity check for every phone number. It takes about 2 minutes: a photo of a valid ID plus a selfie, done in the TripoSIM app right after payment.
- Each person chooses their own number. After the ID check, they pick a number by US state or area code, depending on what's available. Two people can choose numbers in the same area or in different states.
- Each number has its own plan. Yearly or monthly, managed and renewed separately, so one person can cancel without touching the others.

Which plan should each person choose? If a number is needed for a few months only, the monthly plan costs less in total. If it's needed for a year, the yearly plan is clearly cheaper and includes $5 of travel eSIM credit. People can mix plans: for example, two parents on yearly plans and a student on a monthly plan. A monthly number can later switch to yearly and keep the same number.

How to set up US numbers for several people
Repeat these steps once for each person. Use that person's own email address, because the email becomes their TripoSIM account.
- Open the TripoSIM US Number page and choose the yearly or monthly plan.
- Enter the email address of the person who will use the number, then pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The yearly plan can also be paid in USDT (TRC20).
- On that person's phone, open the TripoSIM app and complete the ID check: a photo of their valid ID and a selfie, about 2 minutes.
- Choose the number by US state or area code. Allow notifications so calls and codes show up straight away.
- Test the line: call the new number from another phone and leave a short voicemail.
Tip: do the ID check with the person's own ID and make sure the name matches the details used at checkout. A spelling mismatch can send the check to manual review, which takes longer.
Using WhatsApp on several US numbers
Each person can register WhatsApp, or WhatsApp Business, on their own US number. In our October 2026 tests, WhatsApp and many popular apps, including Google, Microsoft, Apple, Telegram and PayPal, sent their codes to TripoSIM US numbers, and the codes arrived in the app's Messages section within minutes.
Most apps work, but we can't guarantee every service, and some banks refuse internet numbers. If one specific app matters to you, check its rules before you buy.
Limits to know before you buy several numbers
- No outgoing texts. The numbers receive texts from US and Canadian senders but can't send SMS.
- No 911. The numbers can't call emergency services. Keep a local mobile line for emergencies.
- US and Canada calls only. Outgoing minutes call US and Canadian numbers, not other countries.
- Internet needed. The phone needs Wi-Fi or mobile data for calls to ring. Missed calls can leave a voicemail.
- Payments are non-refundable. The one exception is a number we can't deliver within 72 hours after the ID check and number choice, plus any refund the law of your country requires. Each person should have their ID ready before paying.
- Keeping a number. If a plan ends or isn't renewed, the number is held for 30 days on the yearly plan, or 90 days on the monthly plan, and then released.
