Mobile data in United Kingdom
- Good 4G and growing 5G in towns and cities.
- Signal can be weak in the Scottish Highlands, rural Wales and on some train lines.
- Your eSIM connects as roaming on local networks, so turn on Data Roaming for it when you land. There are no extra roaming charges.
Useful apps
- Citymapper: the easiest way to get around London
- TfL Go: London Underground maps and live times
- Trainline: buy train tickets across the UK
- Uber and Bolt: rides in London and other big cities
Good to know
- On London buses and the Underground, tap a contactless card or your phone to pay. No ticket needed.
- Call 111 for urgent medical help that is not an emergency, and 101 for police help that is not urgent. 112 also works for emergencies.
