Mobile data in Germany
- Good 4G and 5G in cities.
- There are still dead spots on some train lines and in rural areas. Download what you need before long train trips.
- Your eSIM connects as roaming on local networks, so turn on Data Roaming for it when you land. There are no extra roaming charges.
Useful apps
- DB Navigator: train times and tickets for all of Germany
- Uber, Bolt or FREENOW: rides in big cities
- Google Maps: directions and public transport
Good to know
- 112 is for ambulance and fire, and 110 is for police.
- Many small shops, bakeries and bars still prefer cash.
