Before you go
- Phone theft is common in big cities. Do not hold your phone out in busy streets or near the road.
Mobile data in Colombia
- Good 4G in Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, Cali and other cities.
- Signal can be weak in rural, mountain and jungle areas.
- Your eSIM connects as roaming on local networks, so turn on Data Roaming for it when you land. There are no extra roaming charges.
Useful apps
- Uber: rides in big cities
- DiDi: rides in big cities
- inDrive: rides where you can offer your own price
- Rappi: food and grocery delivery
Good to know
- 123 is the number for police, ambulance and fire.
- Book rides in an app instead of hailing taxis on the street, especially at night.
